How To Tie Waistbeads
HOW TO TIE STANDARD WAISTBEADS
-
Gather Materials: Ensure you have your waistbeads and a pair of scissors ready. You may also use a bowl to catch the extra beads.
-
Find Your Placement:
-
Wrap the string of beads around your waist at your desired position (e.g., hips, navel, or natural waistline).
-
Slide the beads towards the end of the string to adjust the size.
-
Adjust them to sit comfortably without being too tight or too loose.
-
-
Secure the Beads:
- Hold the beads firmly in place where they fit perfectly on your waist.
- Ensure the beads have no gaps, and the strand is not twisted.
-
Tie the Knots:
- Pull the strand snugly and tie a double knot.
- For added security, tie two more knots to create a total of 3-4 tight knots.
-
Trim the Excess String:
- Using scissors, carefully cut off the extra string, leaving about 1-2 millimeters from the final knot to prevent unraveling.

(Please read and follow these instructions thorougly. Failure to do so could result in improper use of our products and/or dissatisfaction.)
Our waistbeads are durable, but they aren't indestructible. Contrary to popular belief, waistbeads break. However, with proper care & consideration they can and do last for years. Please take note of the following tips to get the most out of your strand(s) and avoid premature breakage.
TOP 3 REASONS WAISTBEADS PREMATURELY BREAK
MOST WAISTBEADS PREMATURELY BREAK FOR THE FOLLOWING 3 REASONS:
- TYING WAISTBEADS TOO TIGHT.
Make sure you are purchasing waistbeads for your appropriate waist size. If you are plus sized, you may benefit from a size that is 60-inches and up. Use our Waistbeads Size Guide for better assistance.
If you purchased a size too small, please Contact Us to replace it. TikTok shop does not offer replacements so email me directly. To qualify for a replacement, item must be in its original condition and user must pay $7.50 reshipment fee. Do not attempt to tie a waistbead that does not comfortably fit. It will definitely break.
When you tie your waistbeads, give yourself room to eat, bend, sit, lay and bloat. There is a lot of force in our core. Excessive body force on waistbeads tied too tight will cause waistbeads to break.
- TYING WAISTBEADS TOO LOOSE.
Tying your waistbeads too lose can result in snagging or snapping from force caused by pulling down your bottoms.
- NOT KNOTTING YOUR WAISTBEADS SECURELY.
I cannot stress this enough: Secure your knots! If you don't secure your waistbeads with enough knots, your knots will slip and your strand will seem to break, when in actuality force caused your knot to slip. This is a preventable user error. We recommend knotting at least 3-5 times and securing your knot with super glue. *If you are an advanced wearer you may secure your knot lightly with a flame by burning the ends of the knots. (Do not put fire directly to the actual knot, only the ends. If you put fire directly to the knot, you will burn the knot and cause unraveling.)
BONUS TIP TO PREVENT WAISTBEAD PINCHING
HOW TO AVOID PINCHING
Secure Knotting:
When tying waist beads, ensure a snug but not overly tight fit. Slide all the beads together CLOSELY to eliminate gaps before tying a secure knot.
Proper Spacing:
Avoid leaving any space between beads on the string. If there's space, the beads can shift and pinch the skin.
Secure the Ends:
Once the beads are tied, secure the ends of the string with a knot and consider melting the ends with a lighter to prevent fraying and shifting of the beads
Adjust for Comfort:
If you experience pinching there is only one fix: cutting the waistbead off and then restringing it and retying. If you need to restring your waistbeads, Purchase Restringing Kit Here.
